The Department provides teaching for the study of the fields of Teaching for Secondary Schools, Kindergartens and Primary Schools, Special Education, Early Childhood Education and Education in full-time and combined form of Bachelor and Master studies.

We operate a department providing instruction in the use of information technology. We offer undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering applications. We teach disiplines from basic programming to programming with modern JAVA or XML languages.

The Department provides teaching of horticultural subjects for the three-year professional Bachelor of Horticulture, teaching in the continuing Master of Science in Production Horticulture full-time degree program. In addition to theoretical teaching, considerable attention is paid to practical teaching in greenhouses.

The activities of the department consist primarily of teaching assignments in tropical and subtropical areas. It provides teaching in bachelor, master and doctoral degree courses. The scientific research activities of the department are mainly carried out in the form of research grants and student research papers.

The main focus of the department is not only to carry out research in the field of agricultural and household development as well as institutional strengthening in tropical areas or poor regions, but also to train professionals able to compete in today's globalized labour market.

The Department focuses on teaching and research in technical-environmental disciplines that have a direct impact on agricultural and rural development in the tropics and subtropics. It provides teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Most courses are taught in English.

The mission of the department is to provide education and research activities in crop production in the tropics and subtropics aimed at increasing the sustainability, productivity and resilience of mainly smallholder farming systems through wider use of crop diversity.

The department focuses on teaching and research in the field of landscape and garden architecture. It provides teaching of profile courses for the Bachelor's degree in Production and Ornamental Horticulture. The Bachelor's degree is followed by a Master's degree in Garden Design.

Teaching of subjects on livestock breeding and their use. Increased attention is paid to practical teaching, in which the form of independent work of students is chosen, in selected subjects to the processing of projects and education of students to teamwork.

The department is dedicated to teaching and research in zoology and fisheries and specialized subjects and research areas related to these fields. Teaching activities include a basic course in zoology and a number of specialised courses.

Teaching and research in the field of plant protection.

Teaching and research in plant and animal genetics with applications in breeding. The department provides extensive teaching at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels.

The Department provides teaching of pedological subjects at all faculties of the Czech University of Life Sciences. It focuses on teaching pedology, soil chemistry and physics, soil mapping and soil conservation.

The department provides teaching of courses in agrochemistry, plant nutrition and fertilization, waste utilization and environmental risks for bachelor, master and doctoral studies. It regularly organises professional seminars on plant nutrition, fertilisation and soil fertility issues.
