Issues planning and building permits, building permits and notices for the notification of small buildings, alterations and maintenance works. Inspects and maintains urban greenery. Supervises the post-monitoring of the Horky landfill site and ensures the collection of hazardous waste. Declares protection zones.

Produces budget and financial management proposals. Maintains accounting records of the status and movement of assets and income and expenses. Collects accounts receivable. Maintains records and administers local taxes, including payment orders. Draws up material liability agreements. Maintains the financial agenda of the housing stock.

Provides social care, assistance in material need and social and legal protection of children. Decides on social benefits and allowances. Provides social counselling and assistance in exercising rights. Handles the agenda of school establishments in relation to the founder.

Carries out filing services and archiving, civil registry, population registration, administrative activities. Ensures the proper running of the office. Issues civil registry documents from the register of births, deaths and marriages. Verifies and sends requests for criminal records. Provides documents for elections, censuses and population and housing censuses.

The Municipality performs the functions of a municipal authority of a municipality with extended jurisdiction in a delegated capacity throughout the city, unless otherwise provided by law or regulation. In the centre there is a Skoda car museum and an observation tower, where there is an exhibition of scarecrows.
