The first written record dates back to 1264, when 18 lans were attributed to the newly established village of Bezděz. In 1420, King Sigismund inscribed the village of Kluk to Jan and Friedrich of Kolovrat. Later the village was in the possession of the Servite Order. After the dissolution of the Order under Joseph II, the Servite property was divided among the neighbours.

The first written report dates back to 1323. The Lobeč castle, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the Eduard Štorch Museum are located here. A hiking and cycling trail passes through the village. We organize cultural, social and children's events.

The town lies in the Mladá Boleslav district and belongs to the Central Bohemia Region. The town lies about eighteen kilometres east of Mladá Boleslav. From the tourist point of view it belongs to a very attractive area of the Bohemian Paradise. There are about 2520 inhabitants permanently living in the town.
