The village of Telnice is located in the district of Ústí nad Labem. The name Telnice comes from the original Slavic name of the Dolnice stream. From Dolnice came the name Telnice and from it the German name Telnitz. The first mention of Telnice dates back to 1371 in connection with mining activities on Rudny Hill.
