The observatory is a contributory organization of the Zlín Region. We are engaged in educational, popularization, professional and observation activities.

The Vsetín Observatory organizes tours, observations and popular events for the public focused on astronomy, cosmonautics and other natural sciences. Visitor attractions include an observation dome with a large telescope, a unique model of the Solar System, an interactive sundial and the Czech Meteorological Institute's weather station.

The archives take comprehensive care of archival material, ensure its safe storage, process it professionally and make it accessible.

We are involved in the inspection of feed, soil and plant nutrition or animal production. We have laboratories to carry out chemical analyses. We focus on organic farming controls and issue exemptions for the use of conventional seeds and seedlings. We organise seminars and issue professional publications.

Offering comprehensive archival services, overseeing the performance of filing services. Ensuring comprehensive care of stored archives, including their use. Also focusing on the processing of archives. Participation in scientific, research and publication activities in the field of archives.
