We run an observatory. We organize shows and provide information about objects in the starry universe. We mainly focus on thematic lectures for primary and secondary schools. We also organise Astronomy Days and thematic lectures four times a year. We run an astronomy club.

We are engaged in research in the fields of physiology, biochemistry, genetic microorganisms, molecular microbiology and so on. We also study microbial products and their formation.

Faculty focuses on fisheries, aquaculture, water conservation and complex systems. It consists of the Research Institute of Fisheries and Hydrobiology and the Institute of Aquaculture. It is a comprehensive department with bachelor, master and doctoral programmes. We provide temporary jobs, internships and jobs.

The institute is mainly focused on history in the period from the early modern period to the Second World War. It conducts basic research in the field of Czech, Czechoslovak and general history and is part of a network of domestic and foreign scientific, research and higher education institutions.

Our aim is to become a national technology platform in the field of biotechnology and its applications, to identify and defend interests in this field, to promote them at European level, to link research and industry and to carry out applied scientific research and innovation activities.

We deal with scientific research on vegetation at the level of organisms, populations, communities or ecosystems. We focus on taxonomy, algology, ecology and physiology of cyanobacteria and algae. We have specialized collections for scientific purposes and an analytical laboratory or scientific library.

Center for Nanobiology and Structural Biology.

The Hydrobiological Station, which was established in 1924 in the building of the former farmhouse by Prof. Karel Schäffern, is a detached workplace of the Faculty of Science. Its establishment was a continuation of Prof. Fritz's "flying" station founded in 1988, which was one of the oldest such stations in Europe.
