We carry out fire fighting and rescue work during natural disasters and other emergencies and perform other tasks according to special legal regulations in our territorial district.

The first written report dates back to 1272. The township is located at an altitude of 674 metres. There are 830 inhabitants.

Primary school for 60 pupils with a day care centre and a canteen. We offer language, sports, singing, drama and music clubs.

Two-class kindergarten for 60 children with a school canteen. We offer regular speech therapy, educational programs with a focus on nature exploration and environmental conservation, individual counseling and guidance for parents, field trips, story times for parents and seniors in the community.

We are an association that strives to preserve the Hořice Passion Play. The Passion Play is a story telling the last days of Jesus Christ, with a cast of about 80 people. We perform in all weather, under a covered stage. The performance is interpreted into sign language. We also perform in Český krumlov.

We are engaged in the protection of nature and landscape in the area of our village.
