The first written report dates from 1359. The village is located at an altitude of 593 metres. 346 inhabitants live in the territory. The village lies in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area and is crossed by a marked hiking and cycling trail. We organize social and cultural events.

Provision of shelter accommodation for men who are in a difficult life situation. The service is for men who wish to resolve their situation and provided for as long as necessary but for a maximum of 12 months.

Offering library services and internet access. We lend books and magazines.

Primary school with a capacity of 660 pupils. There is a canteen, after school club and the opportunity to attend art, sports or drama clubs. We organize talks, openings, theatre performances, lantern parades and others. We arrange rentals of the gym, playground, computer room and more.
