We operate a primary school for 200 pupils with a day care centre and a canteen. We teach English, Czech language, mathematics, physics, computer science, music education, etc. We provide prevention and remediation of specific learning disabilities. We support an anti-bullying program. We also have a foldable human body.

The first written report dates back to 1363. The town lies at an altitude of 450 metres. There are 977 inhabitants. The municipality is equipped with a kindergarten and a primary school and a sports complex. There is a marked cycling route and the Žamberk - Kunvald nature trail.
