The local government oversees the development of urban infrastructure, education, culture, and tourism, and annually organizes major national events, such as the famous Chodské slavnosti—the St. Lawrence Fair.

We organize an annual football tournament, fishing competitions, cultural and social events. In the village there is a school, kindergarten and a community centre.
