The municipal office provides all the necessary information to citizens. We operate an electronic mailroom and an official board. The town of Šumava is known for its rich history. This mountain resort is a centre of year-round tourism and is situated near the upper reaches of the gold-bearing Otava River.

The organization includes an elementary school with regular and special classes, after-school clubs, an elementary art school, two kindergartens, two school cafeterias and a dispensary.

We run a nursery for 50 children. There is a school canteen and a garden with play elements.

We offer lending of books, magazines, brochures, interlibrary loan in the library premises. We provide public internet, photocopying and scanning.

The unit ensures the protection of public order, receives notifications from the public and conducts investigations into offences and crimes committed in their area of jurisdiction.

Operation of a social club.

We operate a children's home. We provide upbringing and education to abandoned children and orphans. We participate in the project Step into Life 1. The aim of the project is to help people leaving children's homes, to enable them to integrate well into society and to establish themselves in the labour market after leaving the children's home.

An international educational movement for youth and children aged 6 and up organizing meetings, expeditions, events and camps. The basic mission is to promote the personality development of young people, their spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and physical abilities.

The parish holds services and retreats.

The first written record dates back to 1227. The village is located at an altitude of 548 metres.
