The first written record dates back to 1310. The village is located at an elevation of 412 meters. CZECH POINT services are available. The village is home to a Sokol club, a museum association, a fortress, the Monument to the Book, and the War Memorial; it also hosts the traditional St. Martin’s Feast and a witch-burning celebration.
