The first written report dates back to 1261. The village is located at an altitude of 378 metres. There are 906 inhabitants. Providing Czech POINT services. In the village there are men's and women's choir, beekeepers' association, firefighters, folklore ensemble Kopaničář and brass band Hrozenčané.
Primary school for 200 pupils with a day care centre and dining room. There are German, English, movement, maths and dyslexia clubs. Educational counselling provided.
We provide education and consultancy in organic farming. We offer information services and promote regional traditions. The Centre's activities are not limited to the Moravian Kopanice region, many activities take place throughout the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area. We also function as a tourist information centre.
