The more modern history of horse breeding in Písek began in 1902, when breeding stallions were placed in the newly built stud farm, but the first mention of a stallion station dates back to 1811. The stud farm in Písek is a unique building and breeding facility, a national cultural monument since 2010.

Baroque chateau with fresco decoration offers tourist tours of the interior and the chateau park. We organize weddings, banquets, conferences, corporate presentations and concerts.

We offer excerpts from the history of Vodnany. The exhibition includes the František Herites Memorial Hall, the Julius Zeyer Memorial Hall and the Mikoláš Alš Hall. We exhibit works of Czech and regional painters. We organize exhibitions of works by pupils of Vodňany schools.

We run a city museum. You can see our permanent exhibition Fishing Tradition in Vodnany, which deals with fishery, painting, fishing studies and research. There are fish specimens and fishing equipment on display. We hold regular exhibitions of the work of photographers and artists.

We offer a permanent exhibition of freshwater fish with tasting of selected Moravian wines.
