The museum offers an exhibition focusing on the history of the town and the surrounding area. Visitors can learn more about Latin and Slavic settlement, there is a facsimile of the Chronicle of Cosmas and other interesting facts about the history of the Middle Ages.

The Museum of the Bohemian Countryside, a branch of the National Museum of Agriculture, is housed in Kačina Castle, one of the most important Empire buildings in the Czech Republic. Staré Ždánice Chateau, the former residence of Ždánice millers from 1877, later rebuilt by Baron Nathaniel Philippe de Aras into a romantic chateau. The chateau is open to the public during cultural events and guided tours.
