The Municipal Cultural and Information Centre provides cultural events including theatre performances of the U Jelena Theatre and also operates the Bystřice Tourist Information Centre, the Museum of Puppets on Long Threads and the Kafíčko Café in the U Jelena House.

Part of the Vltava Cascade is the Štěchovice hydroelectric power station, which consists of two power plants. You can go on a tour of them. During the excursion, you will also visit the power plant itself, as you will see the engine room of the Štěchovice I power plant.
