The theatre is a symbol of the Czech nation. It was founded in 1868. Its repertoire consists of four artistic ensembles, namely Opera, Drama, Ballet and Laterna magika. The films Merry Christmas wishes the octopus, Divine Emma and Lord, you are a widow were filmed here.

The theatre was founded in 1781 and is one of the oldest theatres in Central Europe. It is one of the three stages of the National Theatre. Audiences can see drama, opera and ballet here.

The workshops are responsible for the production of costumes, sets and props for the National Theatre.

Administered by the National Theatre and functions as an open space for modern theatre of all forms and genres. Here you can see performances of Laterna Magika, Drama and Ballet. The programme also includes independent projects, festivals, performances by foreign companies, art installations and educational programmes.
