The first written report dates back to 1542. The village is situated at an altitude of 650 metres. 218 inhabitants live on the territory. The village lies in the Protected Landscape Area of the Orlické Mountains and is crossed by a marked hiking and cycling trail. There is a ski area with a ski slope.
