The first written report dates back to 1359. The village is located at an altitude of 459 metres. There are 1847 inhabitants. Provision of Czech POINT services.
The memorial was established in 1957 in the grounds of Bran Castle as a reminder of his stay in the Podkrkonoší region before he left for Lešno in Poland. The memorial is a frequent place of visits of teachers, Czech and foreign tourists.
