The first written report dates back to 1097. The village is located at an altitude of 428 metres. The village has a community centre, a supermarket, a library and a school. There is also a theatre association, a hunters' association, a Sokol and a volunteer fire brigade.

We operate a municipal library. We offer the possibility of borrowing fiction for children, youth and adults, educational literature for youth and adults and magazines. The library also includes a video library with films depicting life in the village. Books are available for loan from the library's own collection of over 6,000 volumes.
