The first written report dates back to 1342. The village is located at an altitude of 545 metres. The village organizes cultural and social events. The village has a volunteer fire brigade, a TJ Studnice futsal team and the Mechlov History Friends Club.

Provision of library services. The library has a quality book collection of around 900 copies. It also includes a study library. We organize many cultural events. We focus on exhibitions, talks and other activities.
