The first written report dates back to the year 1000. The village is located at an altitude of 240 metres. We provide Czech POINT services. The village has a general practitioner's, dentist's and physiotherapist's office, as well as a volunteer fire brigade and a football team.

We operate a municipal library where we provide lending of books and magazines. We offer public internet access. Our own book collection for lending consists of over 1000 volumes of books, but we also source books from libraries in larger surrounding towns.
