The first written report dates back to 1520. The village is situated at an altitude of 315 metres. In the village there is a Czech beekeepers' association, a pensioners' club, a hunting association, a voluntary firefighters' association, a social or cynological club.

We operate a municipal library. We offer the possibility of borrowing fiction for children, youth and adults, educational literature for youth and adults and magazines. We provide free internet access and public information. Books are available for loan from our own collection, as well as from the collection of libraries in larger towns in the area.
