Ensuring the construction and legal activities of the city. The Department issues decisions on the location of construction, on the change of land use, protection zone and land consolidation. It also provides land-use planning information and decides on landscaping and maintenance work within the city. It carries out building inspections.

The municipal police provide local public order matters. It also supervises the observance of the rules of civil coexistence. It deals with crime prevention, traffic issues and tries to gain knowledge on crime. It organises talks at primary schools and takes care of prevention activities.

City management. Preparation of the draft budget and ensuring its discussion. Keeping records of approved budget measures and making adjustments to them. Analyzes the current financial situation and evaluates the status of available funds. Submits the financial statements for approval.

Maintenance of the vehicle register, performance of state professional supervision in road transport, administration of the agenda concerning driving schools and traffic offences. Deals with the issue and exchange of driving licences, international driving licences and their duplicates. It also issues registrations to operate driving schools.

Issuing of decisions on granting of concession, on suspension of trade. Maintenance of the trade register. Issuing extracts from the commercial, trade and insolvency registers, the land register, driver's points records and criminal records. Authentication of signature.

The Department ensures the operation of the mailroom, the filing room and the dispatching room, the sorting and registration of consignments, archiving in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and supervision of the filing service. It operates the telephone switchboard and provides information to citizens, whose requests are directed to the relevant staff of the Office.

The department issues and collects fishing licences and carries out inspections. It issues consent for proposals for the routing of underground and overhead lines, roads and waterways.
