The first written report dates back to 1352. The town is located at an altitude of 475 metres. In the town there are kindergarten and primary school, post office, library, nursing home, museum and others.
We operate a municipal library. We lend educational literature, children's literature, poetry, fiction and magazines. Internet access is available. We provide lending, bibliographic information and interlibrary loan services. We organise literary talks and events for the public.
We run a museum displaying exhibitions on the subject of the Skaš toy. The first references to the production of wooden toys in the village of Skašov date back to the 18th century. Toys were made of spruce wood, smaller parts were made of aspen, lime and birch wood. The toys were painted and decorated with paints.
