The first written report dates from 1349. The village is located at an altitude of 473 metres. The village has a multi-purpose court with ASB surface and equipment for volleyball, basketball, streetball and other ball games. There is also a library, a restaurant, playgrounds and a convenience store.

We operate a municipal library. We offer the possibility of borrowing fiction for children, youth and adults, educational literature for youth and adults and magazines. We provide free internet access and public information. Books from the fund of the Šmidinger Library Strakonice are also available.
