The library offers books on social or natural sciences, Bohemia, Slavic studies and history for loan and study. We organize lectures, talks, exhibitions and other cultural events. We deal with the processing, management and protection of library collections.

Our library focuses on processing, systematically adding to and making accessible the collection of world Slavic literature. We offer for study selected works of original Slavic literature, historical, philological and political works. We organize various cultural events and professional seminars.

We take into archival care and preserve archival materials arising from the official and professional activities of the National Library, the holdings of other institutions, the personal holdings of eminent persons and collections. The fonds and collections are sorted, organized, inventoried and catalogued.
