Replacing the heat conductive paste under the processor thermal distributor, is an increasingly requested modification to processors for LGA 115x - 2066 sockets. In these applications, the delide can be used to improve the efficiency of heat transfer and thus significantly reduce the temperatures at which the processor operates.
