The first written report dates back to 1505. The village is located at an altitude of 390 metres.
The first written mention of the settlement can be found in the charter of Václav III from 1306. The village is located in the Hostýn Hills at an altitude of 343 metres. It has approximately 1900 inhabitants. In the village there is an evangelical church, a bust of TGM, monuments to the victims of World War I and World War II and a memorial to Jan Maniš.
