The museum's collection contains evidence of the permanent settlement of the territory of today's Kojetín and from the Paleolithic period, examples of folk art, costumes, folk pottery, a rich numismatic collection, an extensive collection of old prints, handicraft tools, historical weapons, works of art and much more.

The Mammoth Hunters Monument is an original field presentation of archaeological finds.

We offer tours of historical classrooms and bells, the Archaeology of Přerov Region exhibition, the Komenský and Blahoslav memorials. We also focus on organizing short-term exhibitions. We also specialize in educational programs for schools.

The town museum is located in the castle building. The museum operates as part of the Department of Tourism and Culture at the Bystřice pod Hostýnem Municipal Office. There are 18th and 19th century ceramics, sculptures by Oldřich Drahotušský and the study of František Táborský.
