OpenLab České Budějovice is a modern educational laboratory under the Biological Centre of the CAS. It connects science, creativity and practice. It offers courses, workshops and activities for students, teachers and the public. It develops talent and shows that science has meaning.

We offer specialised services in breeding and agriculture, including seed value analysis, plant resistance testing and pesticide sales. Our laboratories perform detailed chemical analyses and variety identification using biochemical markers. With us you can improve the quality of your production.

We provide services in the fields of clinical biochemistry and hematology, immunohematology, immunoassay and cellular and molecular diagnostics with a focus on oncology. We perform complex diagnostic tests not only for clinical departments.

Operation of a pathology laboratory.

Accredited testing laboratory. We provide independent destructive testing of structural steel and non-ferrous metal materials including welded joints. We perform tensile, hardness, bending impact, process testing, metallographic testing and spectrometric analysis.

We operate a mobile eco-laboratory for wastewater treatment plant technology, water treatment plants, including other operating equipment such as for liquid and gas filtration, etc. We operate not only for our partners' facilities. These services are recommended to operators in the interest of economical operation and long service life.

We operate a primary metrology laboratory. We provide services in all basic areas of metrology: fundamental metrology, preservation and development of state standards, research and development, transfer of units, calibration of standards and working gauges. We focus on legal metrology and metrological supervision.

Research and development in the field of building chemistry and coatings. We determine mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. We provide expert and consultancy services, training and education in the field.

Carrying out laboratory veterinary diagnostic work in the areas of food microbiology, feed, environmental swabs, sectional and clinical material.

Medical Microbiology Laboratory provides laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases by bacteriology, parasitology, mycology and virology using direct methods - microscopy, culture, direct antigen detection and indirect methods - serology.

We perform basic, truncated and full drinking water analyses. We also focus on analyses of hot water, swimming pool water, we also carry out wastewater and radiological analyses.

We operate an agrolaboratory. We perform analytical analysis of wine and grape must, water and soil nutrient determination as well as basic sensory tests. We determine relative density, pH, iron and protein in wine, the proportion of real alcohol in wine, total alcohol, sugar-free extract of wine and more.

The activity of the staff of the specialised centre is focused on calibration of common commercially manufactured measuring instruments and special railway measuring instruments and gauges. The centre provides management of metrology in the railway transport sector.

We are a research and development institute in the field of explosives, energetic materials and munitions. We operate an accredited internal ballistics, safety engineering, explosives and explosives analytical laboratory. We offer the services of an accredited GC/MS and HPLC laboratory.
