SVV ČR was founded in 1993 by members of the Czechoslovak Independent Anti-Chemical Unit, participants in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf 1990-1991. Members are exclusively war veterans, active duty or reserve soldiers.
