Primary education leads to the pupils acquiring the necessary learning strategies and based on these strategies they are motivated for lifelong learning.

The present school was opened in 1871. Side wings were added in 1886. The whole school grounds have been gradually renovated. It includes a multi-purpose sports field, the Bohemian Switzerland visitor area with an outdoor classroom, school canteen and day care facilities.
