We provide a three-year combined BA followed by two-year MA and PhD courses in the core areas of fine art, documentary, reportage and applied photography, history, theory and criticism of photography, complemented by studies in art history, graphic design and typography.

We are located in one of the buildings of the Faculty of Philosophy and Natural Sciences of the Silesian University in Opava, which was reconstructed for the needs of artistic disciplines with a focus on film and theatre production.

We offer studies in theoretical and applied physics in bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. Teaching is intertwined with the scientific activities of the Institute and theoretical students have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research at an international level.

We offer tuition in general and applied mathematics, mathematical methods in economics, geometry, mathematical analysis and mathematics teaching. We organise seminars, conferences, summer schools and events for secondary and primary schools.

Provision of teaching with a bohemistic and information-library focus. Offering courses in Czech Language and Literature, Teaching of General Education Subjects for Secondary Schools, Library Science, Cultural Dramaturgy and Audiovisual Production.

Offering teaching in the field of history and museology with a pedagogical and scientific focus.

The institute mainly provides teaching programmes in bachelor's and master's studies in English, German and Italian, including in combination with other subjects studied at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on research in the field of linguistics.

Lessons in archaeology. The institute organizes international conferences, has intensive domestic and foreign cooperation, in addition to teaching it also develops extensive scientific activities.

The institute is engaged in research on multi-agent systems: ground and flying (UAV) robotic platforms, biological and bio-inspired multi-agent systems, as well as research on soft computing methods.
