The department provides teaching of courses in Pharmaceutical Technology, Medical Devices, Homeopathic Preparations and Cosmetology for Pharmacists. We focus on the laws of drug formulation with the aim of optimizing structural characteristics.

We provide teaching of subjects characterizing the sources of plant drugs and subjects related to the use of medicinal plants and their biological activity in the master's, post-master's and doctoral degree programs. We conduct research with a focus on the study of plant constituents.

The department provides instruction in biophysics, mathematics, and physical chemistry and provides students with information on scientific methodologies in the sciences. A free elective course in Gerontology is offered for the Health Bioanalytics major.

We provide teaching of the Bachelor's degree programme in Medical Bioanalytics and Master's degree programme in Pharmacy as well as doctoral degree programmes. We conduct research with a focus on the preparation of new potential drugs and the study of the relationships between their chemical structure and biological activity.

We provide education in the nature and interrelationship of processes occurring in the human body under physiological and disease conditions. We study the microscopic structure of selected tissue models and research on nutrition. We offer bachelor, master and doctoral studies.

The department covers part of the teaching in the pharmacy degree programme and participates in teaching in the medical bioanalytics degree programme. We are concerned with the analysis of factors that influence the therapeutic value, consumption and need for pharmaceuticals.

The department provides instruction in General and Inorganic Chemistry, Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry, Laboratory Techniques, Biostatistics, and Chemometrics. Research focuses on the preparation of biologically active compounds and research on transdermal permeation accelerants.

We provide teaching of biochemistry disciplines in bachelor, master and doctoral degree programs. We conduct research focusing on the study of drug biotransformation and the effects of drugs on enzyme activities in vitro and in vivo under physiological conditions and in experimental pathological conditions.

We provide teaching in the fields of histology and embryology for students of the Master's degree programmes in General Medicine and Dentistry or teaching anatomy, histology and embryology in the doctoral programme. We are engaged in research with a focus on stem and progenitor cells.
