The economic, energy and time requirements of production in the deployment of forestry technology and multi-criteria technology optimization are studied.

The department's research activities include projects affecting, in addition to current forestry problems, the restoration of forest ecosystems in anthropically heavily stressed and degraded conditions, as well as the dynamics of natural and near-natural forest development.
