We operate a municipal library. We offer the possibility of borrowing fiction for children, youth and adults, educational literature for youth and adults and magazines. We provide free internet access and public information. Books are available for loan from our own collection, as well as from the collection of libraries in larger towns in the area.

The library's collection includes regional literature, such as newspapers and periodicals from Chrudim and East Bohemia, broadsheets, old prints, and manuscripts. The specialized section includes literature on history, natural sciences, archaeology, art, ethnography, and more. Wi-Fi is available in the reading room.

Providing library services. The library in Heřmanův Městec is one of the oldest in the country. Already in 1818 Puchmajer documents the organizational statutes of the local reading circle, which later became a public library. The library has two departments, one for adults and one for children.

We provide a library service with specialist literature in ecology, geology, hydrogeology, water management, hydrology and chemistry.
