The Petřiny branch is a library and a modern cultural centre with its own multifunctional hall (cinema, lectures, conferences and other programmes). For rest, relaxation and study, there are workplaces, a coworking desk and four club rooms that can be reserved.

The largest and oldest library of technical literature in the Czech Republic with a capacity of around 926,000 volumes. Its primary function is to provide technical information resources and services to students, teachers and researchers, as well as to those interested in technical information from the general public.

The largest publicly accessible library in the Czech Republic specialising in art, architecture and design - the collection comprises over 190,000 volumes. Entrance to the library is free, registration is required to access the entire collection and services. The UPM library lends only in person.

We acquire, process and make available to users musical material in classical and electronic form. We carry out research. We ensure the preservation of musical materials.

We include the Bohemian Library, the Library of the Artistic Beseda, the Library of the former Cabinet for the Study of Czech Theatre and the Library of the former Department of Western Literatures. We provide xerox copies, printing from the database and scanning.

We offer lending of books, magazines and audio books, internet access, chance to old books, digital piano, help with information search. Our library contains over 15,000 volumes. In addition to our own titles, we borrow books from the City Library.
