Deals with the issue and exchange of driving licences, international driving licences and their duplicates. It also issues registrations to operate driving schools.

The Department ensures the operation of the mailroom, the filing room and the dispatching room, the sorting and registration of consignments, archiving in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and supervision of the filing service. It operates the telephone switchboard and provides information to citizens, whose requests are directed to the relevant staff of the Office.
