The Department provides housing support, rental and housing management.

The city district is in the northern part of Pilsen, sometimes referred to as the Northern Suburbs. It includes the territory of the old town district of Roudná and the formerly independent municipality of Bolevec with the settlements of Bílou Hora and Košutka, supplemented by the residential development of Lochotín, then gradually connected by the settlements of Lochotín, Bolevec, Košutka and Vinice.

With its area of 3,546 hectares, the Pilsen 3 Municipal District is one of the largest districts in Pilsen. The population as of 1 January 2012 was 50 312. The municipal district of Plzeň 2 - Slovany consists of the local districts of Božkov, Doudlevce, Hradiště, Koterov, Lobzy and Východní předměstí.
