The first written report dates back to 1225. The town is situated at an altitude of 214 metres. Provision of Czech POINT services. The township is equipped with a kindergarten and primary school, a post office and a general practitioner's and dentist's office. There is a marked bicycle route.

The office provides all the information citizens need. The municipality is located at the foot of the Chřiby Mountains in the area of south-eastern Moravia (Uherské Hradiště district, Zlín region). You can find it in the western part of the district, approximately in the middle of the road from Uh. Hradiště to Kyjov (see map). The population is 850.
