The first written report dates back to 1255. The township is located at an altitude of 312 metres. There are 1333 inhabitants. There is a marked bicycle route through the village. The ruins of Doubravice Castle are nearby. We publish a newsletter. There is an elementary school and a kindergarten.

A picturesque town on the edge of the Moravian Karst, less than 15 km from Brno. It is an important pilgrimage site with a Baroque church of the Name of the Virgin Mary by the architect Jan Blažej Santini Aichl.
