The department provides instruction in chemistry with a focus on organic chemistry. Conducts research focused on synthesis methods, reaction cyclization, reaction mechanism, or reactivity of heterocyclic systems.

The scientific activity of the institute is focused on monitoring the psychological and social characteristics of children, adolescents and their families. The institute specializes primarily in the lifelong development of school-age children, adolescents and young adults. It addresses behaviour, relationships and communication.

The center builds and operates hardware and software facilities for educational, research and administrative activities. It implements the concept of development of information and communication technologies and audiovisual equipment. It ensures the administration and development of the computer network and servers.

Seminary provides instruction in art history. Teaching specializes in a center for early medieval studies, a research center for the history of Central Europe, or the art and culture of early modern Moravia. We publish the journal Seminars in Art History. We cooperate with galleries or art museums.

We are involved in the Hera planetary defence mission, PLATO exoplanet research and the Comet Interceptor project. We focus on the supply of space probe structures, satellite adapters and mechanical equipment for their ground support.
