The department focuses on the knowledge, understanding and management of technological and natural hazards. It carries out research in the field of risk analysis methodology. The company is one of the Czech institutions in the field of applied research in regional sciences. It carries out evaluations of operational programmes, strategies and projects. It produces strategic and conceptual documents for ministries, regions and cities.

The Archives supervises the methodological management of the Central General Records Office and manages the museum collections housed in the old headquarters building.

The main tasks of the Centre are to expand the frontiers of knowledge in the field of kinanthropology; to transfer research results to the general public; to provide high professional support for student education; to cooperate with the commercial sphere in the field of body composition measurement and physical ability testing.

We focus on research into the materials and processes of the Earth's crust and their effects on the environment. We study the structure and properties of anthropogenic sediments, physical laws and mechanisms of induced processes in rocks. We organize lectures at universities and courses.
