The laboratory conducts research in the field of interacting compounds, semiconducting glasses and thermoelectric materials. It has three research teams working in the areas of non-crystalline materials, layered semiconductors with tetradymite structure and chemistry of non-graphite intercalates.

The laboratory is engaged in scientific activities in the field of transport services, transport rationalization and optimization of logistics chains and provides national and international rail transport. It also educates and trains students for practical commercial and freight forwarding activities.

The laboratory brings together faculty departments to carry out load tests on bridges, determine the physical properties of soils, measure noise and vibration or determine the driving characteristics of rolling stock. It performs both non-accredited and accredited tests that assess the condition of road and rail bridges.

Teaching and research facilities dealing with the properties of building materials, construction of transport structures, geological and geotechnical influences on transport structures, theory of transport vehicles from the point of view of design, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical and electrical engineering.

The activities of the department are oriented towards applied research in the development, construction and operation of railway vehicles. Research on dynamic properties of railway vehicles and ways of reducing the stresses on the road, research on material properties and their application in the construction of railway vehicles and the manufacture of their components and much more.

Accredited testing laboratory of DEKRA CZ a.s. offers the following services: non-destructive testing, NDT and mechanical testing DT. From NDT it performs radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic powder, capillary and visual testing.

Development of scientific knowledge in the fields of complex land reclamation, soil science and informatics related to these fields. Applied research and development in the field of minimization of undesirable substances in soil and water, comprehensive land improvement and rural development or regulation of soil moisture regimes.

We carry out long-term monitoring of solar radiation components in the Czech Republic, monitoring of the ozone layer over Central Europe and climate measurements and observations for the Hradec Králové urban agglomeration region and its surroundings.

The Institute is devoted to research on fruit crops grown in the Czech Republic as cash crops. We also focus on the conservation of the gene pools of fruit crops, the study of the effect of rootstocks on grafted varieties, the development of methods of biological and integrated conservation of fruit trees and fruit planting projects.
