We run an institute conducting research on problems of interaction between natural processes and human activity. We work on geochemistry, engineering geology, composite and carbon materials, seismotectonics, structures and material properties. We organise training courses, talks and professional congresses.

The main activity of the Oriental Institute of the CAS is scientific research in the field of Oriental studies. We focus mainly on the history of the peoples of Asia and Africa, as well as on their religious and philosophical systems, culture, languages and literature from antiquity to the present.

The station serves primarily as a demonstration, teaching and experimental base for the study program of horticulture, primarily for the implementation of professional practice I to II year, as well as for practical teaching of students of bachelor's and master's form of full-time study.

We provide professional services for the development and implementation of national water policy focusing on hydraulics, hydrology, hydrogeology. We are engaged in promoting water protection, flood prevention and waste and packaging management, research on the status, use and changes of aquatic ecosystems and their links in the landscape.

Processing of knowledge of techniques and technologies for the needs of restoration and art-historical evaluation, verification of sources and applied research of techniques and technologies for restoration work.

Research and development in plant genetics, physiology and biotechnology.

We conduct basic and applied research in the field of photonics, optoelectronics and electronics. In these areas, the IFE extends scientific knowledge and develops new cutting-edge technologies.

The main areas of research are fluid mechanics, hydrology, rheology and water treatment. Includes water quality issues and water treatment technologies, hydrology (e.g. flood prediction), observations on experimental catchments and hydrodynamic topics on fluid flow and dispersion systems.

We provide research on the composition and evolution of inanimate nature. We have a laboratory of analytical methods, environmental geology and geochemistry, geological processes, paleobiology, paleoecology and paleomagnetism.

We are engaged in the preparation of source documentation, critical evaluation and reinterpretation of the history of Czech art after 1945. We contribute to the development of knowledge of the local development of the history of art and its introduction into a broader international context.
