Our association of the inhabitants of the settlement Kaňkov was created for the purpose of development of this part of the village of Braňany. The settlement is located at an altitude of 360 metres. The first written record of the settlement dates back to 1495. We organize cultural, social and tourist events for the inhabitants of the settlement and for the general public.

The Institute of Archaeological Preservation of Northwest Bohemia is a public research institution engaged in professional archaeological research and publishing.

It is a micro regional association of eight municipalities: Nová Ves v Horách, Hora Sv. Kateřiny, Klíny, Horní Jiřetín, Brandov, Mariánské Radčice, Český Jiřetín, Louka u Litvínov and three towns.
