The first written report dates back to 1183. The village is situated at an altitude of 183 metres. The village has a primary school, a library and a sports complex.
We conduct scientific research in the areas of prehistoric and early history in the territory of Moravia and Silesia, mostly based on archaeological sources. We focus on Paleolithic and Paleoethnology research, research into the Roman period and the migration of peoples, and Slavic and medieval archaeology. The Institute publishes scientific publications.
We run a children's folklore group where we teach children about folk traditions, dances, songs and costumes. We organize a lot of our own activities, we go to performances with our dance bands in costume, we organize other activities, connected with possible visits of the general public, summer camps.

We run a primary school with a total capacity of 320 places. The school includes a school canteen and a day care centre. The school has 10 classrooms, a computer room with computers and an interactive whiteboard and other specially adapted classrooms. A gymnasium is also available for children.
We run a wine association. We are an open association of winegrowers from the villages of Březí u Mikulova and Dolní Dunajovice, who produce wine from grapes grown in the cadastre of these two villages.
State secondary school of wine providing three-year courses in flower arranging and selling and gardening with a focus on viticulture and winemaking. We organize for pupils exchange stays abroad, cultural, sports and social events.
