The first written record dates back to 1052. The town is located at an altitude of 172 metres. Provision of Czech POINT services. The dominant feature of the town is the Baroque castle together with a large park. The town has a school, kindergarten, pharmacy and sports and cultural associations.

The kindergarten is located in a quiet, residential part of the town, next to the Veltrusy Primary School with which it closely cooperates. Near the kindergarten there is the Veltrusy castle, which is surrounded by a beautiful nature reserve where children can go for walks in the forest and observe the surrounding nature. The capacity of the kindergarten is 108 children.

Offering library services and internet access. We lend books for adults, children and young people. Our library's collection consists mostly of fiction, but basic educational and regional literature is also available. The library collection is expanded by loans with SVK Kladno.

We provide aid to victims of natural disasters, support missionaries and traveling ministers, and help build places of worship in developing countries. We hold worship services, retreats, Bible studies, public lectures, and ministry gatherings, including online.

Primary school for 540 pupils with a recreation hall and a canteen. Teaching follows the school's Learning for Life curriculum. We provide foreign language lessons and, if interested, swimming lessons. The school has an active school psychologist, an educational counsellor and prevention of socially pathological phenomena.

We conduct research in a wide range of nuclear physics, both experimental and theoretical. We are also involved in related fields of science. Selected problems of theoretical subnuclear physics and mathematical physics are studied. Nuclear theory focuses on nuclear structure, hyper-nuclei and others.
