We operate a volunteer fire brigade. We are dedicated to protecting the lives, health and property of residents during fires. We provide assistance in emergencies. We have our own firefighting equipment.

The first written record dates back to 1230. The town is situated at an altitude of 519 metres. In the town there is a chateau built in the Renaissance reconstruction of an older Gothic castle, the branch church of St. John of Nepomuk, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (inside there is an organ played by J. J. Ryba) and other monuments.

Primary school for 600 pupils with a day care centre and club. We organise opening and closing ceremonies, open days, visits to theatres, day trips, excursions and first year pupils' naming ceremonies. We focus on Earth Day, literary competitions, Christmas tree lighting, project days and more.
